The iPod Touch Classroom

An online community for schools using iPod Touches in the classroom

I have recently had some loaner iPod touches from Apple to see how they interfaced with the StudyWiz and Janison VLEs used by the Suspension Centre at Campbelltown. Unfortunately, only early models were available and these seemed unable to connect to the NSW DET server using the Safari browser. Once away from school they worked fine and access to the learning materials within the VLE was excellent with forms and assessments easy to complete using the iPod. Anyone else in NSW DET using the iPod got some feedback - either good or bad about how well the newer models work with the server.

At present we run a one-to-one Apple computer environment using the VLE for all lesson materials and activities. Any other feedback on the iPod in this type of environment is welcomed - especially with regard to ability to complete pdf forms as part of learning programs/assessments

Hi Ray there are certain settings you need to configure the ipod touches for use with NSW DET. Feel free to call me on 0429697413 and I will be happy to discuss them.
We are using Studywiz with our ipods and it seems to be working well within DET.
