The iPod Touch Classroom

An online community for schools using iPod Touches in the classroom

I teach American History to 8th graders and have been trying to find a solid basis on which to build a case for itouches in my classroom. Does anyone have any ideas of how they are using them in history classes?

Several of our AP classes, including AP History, received grant money last year to purchase Touches and a wireless set-up for their programs. However, my son informed me the other day, they are rarely used because no one wants to spend the time to format/sync each one with the info/apps they need! Sad.

What a disappointment, it does take time and patience to get them set up but when it is done they are great tools. I use my class set almost every day. We use them for formative assessment, as white boards, and even to have the students blog as a ticket out to reflect on the learning from the day.

i have a class set of iPods touches and, what I call, a sync box which enables me to synchronise all 16 of my iPods at the same time. It sound to me this is what you need... any Qs give me a shout.
